overhead door model 455 garage door openers?
I am trying to program a replacement opener for the above model garage door. I did not have trouble sending the code, however, the garage door opens and closes at least 4 times before it comes to a close. I have to repeatedly press the remote button until it finally closes for good. I set it up by removing the cover and setting the security code with the placement of the pins 1-9. When I pressed the buttons on the unit in the garage, I could not see the detailed description of the buttons (4). The left most button was for the light bulb, of course. Thanks

It doesn’t sound like a remote issue. It may be the safety beam that goes across the base of the door opening being "broken" when the door is coming down and moving the rails just enought to break the beam. You have a box that looks like a small camera and a reflector or receiver box on the other side. try adjusting the box with the light a little to get a constant green on the LED. move it around a little to see if the light goes red (would indicate the breaking of the beam).
They are sort of touchy, but you can get it with a little tinkering.
Simply adjust your down force, a little at a time until the door closes all the way first time. Even a slight resistance causes the door to reopen. Good Luck

Have a 455 Automatic Doorman whose start capacitor appears to be defective. The MFD # has been obliterated, but it’s a 330V, Mallory capacitor.
Anyone know of the replacement # I can use to find a replacement?
