Garage Door Will Open, But won't close?

My wife and myself have the garage door openers built into the car, and we are having the same problem. We can open our garage door with the remotes, but can't close the door.
We have to get out of the car and push the button?
What is the fix, please help!

Yep, the gentleman above is correct. If you can open the door fine but are having to hold down the wall button until the door fully closes then it is most likely an issue with the photo sensors at the bottom of the tracks on either side of the door. Light colors vary from brand to brand but, generally speaking, there should be a light that will either be blinking or will be totally off indicating that the sensors are out of line or being blocked by something. Just move the sensors until the light burns solid again. If you are unable to get them to burn solid then you may need to replace the sensors. Hope this helps.

that’s weird there is probably a sort in the system either in the car or in the motor of the door opener
or a setup that is setup to the car only opens
did the car EVER close the door if not then its set up to only open
Do you have to hold the wall button to make the door close? If so something is wrong with the safety beams.
Damn! How terrible!
I’d say use the remote that came with the opener set instead of wired through your car.
Your installed remote can lose its memory and may have to be reprogrammed every once in awhile. Another thing to try is extending the antenna that hangs down from the motors. If your garage is brick, has thick walls or is heavily insulated you may need to extend the antenna through holes drilled to the outside of the garage above the doors. A strand of copper wire attached to the antennas should work. I would first try about a foot of wire hanging down from the motor. If that doesn’t work then try extending to the outside.
